Emapta (BeMedia)
At Emapta, I embraced the opportunity to advance my career as a full-fledged Web Designer. In my previous roles, I had mostly designed a few web pages, landing pages, or user interfaces, but I was eager to challenge myself and gain broader experience in website design. Emapta assigned me to work with BeMedia, an Australian website design and development firm, where my main focus was on design work using Photoshop and Illustrator. This role ignited my curiosity about website development and helped me deepen my understanding of how websites communicate and how coding languages power their functionality. Through Emapta and BeMedia, I was able to strengthen my design skills and acquire a more comprehensive view of website design. Emapta is my fourth employer.
Challenges
I faced a challenge because, although my background in graphic design, multimedia, and animation provided a strong creative foundation, my experience with website design was limited. As I was about to take on a role as a website designer, the pressure was on, knowing that my knowledge came primarily from a few projects and additional tasks at my previous jobs.
Solution
To prepare for my role at Emapta, I spent two intense weeks immersing myself in best practices for web design. During that time, I read books, watched tutorials, and consulted with seasoned designers to ensure I was ready to meet the demands of the position. As a result, I was able to create designs for numerous Australian clients that they truly appreciated, sparking my passion for further exploring website design and development. Recognizing my potential in both design and video, the team also entrusted me with creating animated ads for clients, further broadening my skill set.
